FAQ

Good to know.

Who decides whether I get a prescription?

Only the doctor. During the consultation they assess your situation and make a medical decision on whether a therapy is right for you. A prescription is not guaranteed.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book an appointment for a medical consultation directly online.

How does the video consultation work?

About 45 minutes with a doctor by video. You discuss your symptoms and medical history and decide together on possible therapies.

What does it cost?

The consultation is billed by time according to TARMED and covered by your health insurance. You pay for the medication separately at the pharmacy.

Is this really legal?

Yes. Since August 2022, Swiss doctors can prescribe cannabis directly, without an FOPH permit. More on bag.admin.ch

Can I drive with a cannabis prescription?

In principle yes, as long as you are fit to drive. The same duty of care applies as with other medication. Your doctor will discuss this with you.

How do repeat prescriptions work?

After the first consultation, repeat prescriptions are issued in a shorter consultation. The doctor reviews your progress and adjusts the therapy if needed.

Which products are available?

Which preparation is suitable is decided solely by the doctor during the consultation. The pharmacy will also advise you.
